Today, I would like to address the topic of my blog to those who are currently involved in their own home business or who are considering starting a home business.

First, I will share with you my story. I have been involved in the home business industry for five going on six years. Since my involvement, I have learned quite a bit about the home business industry; in particular, about marketing.

When I started my first home business with a health and wellness company over five years ago, most the marketing methods I was taught was using offline methods. The methods used were putting out fliers, passing out business cards, talking to my family and friends, recruiting people from shopping centers or malls, and more. I got kicked off of numerous shopping center parking lots and mall by the police. This was because soliciting on the premises was not allowed. I did not have a whole lot of success using these methods. I know there are individuals who have used these methods and have done very well. If this style of marketing suites you, there is definitely nothing wrong with using these methods.

For many people, in particular, people like myself, who is an introvert, I never felt comfortable using these methods of marketing. It was because of this, that I knew that is was not something I wanted to continue to do. I knew that as I got older, this style of marketing would become harder to do. Chasing after people in an attempt to get them to join your business opportunity or purchase your products requires a lot of work.

About a little over a year ago, I made the decision to market my business using the internet. I felt the using the computer was a little more my style; especially since I am a software developer. Since making this decision, I am actually starting to have a lot more success. My success is not fully based on the fact that I have the technical skills. I believe that a lot of my success has to do with the fact that I have grown so much over the years. I have gained a better understanding of how to run a business and I understand the importance of having skills in sells, marketing, and effective communication. In order to have a successful business, all of these skills are necessary and it takes time to develop.

Those individuals who have experienced a career in sales, usually do quite well in MLM or network marketing. This is because the skills they used during their career are necessary skills in MLM or network marketing. This is not to say that people who have no prior experience in sells can’t find success in network marketing , quite the contrary, but what it means is that it will require those of us new to sells, marketing and effective communication will have to learn first before we see any great amount of results in our business. How long it takes to learn these skills is going to be determined by the individuals.

Because I had to learn many of the skills on my own, it took me a while to learn. This is why, when I made the decision to venture onto the internet, I also started to look for a company that would help me enhance these skills more quickly. It was soon after making this decision, the I encountered a company called Guide2MarketingSuccess.com. This is a company that I am using to help me market my primary business opportunity.

They are sharing with us the same marketing methods they use to market their own primary business which has allowed them to earn a 6 to 7 figure income per month. I know two of them have not been involved with their perspective companies for very long. For example, my upline, who is one of the founders of this company, in his first month made over $25K and my direct upline made $17K within his second month. Both were able to quit their jobs within their first year of starting their business.

Those individuals, who are not finding much success in their business, need to inquire why this is happening. Is it because you are not being taught properly how to market your business? Are you truly investing the time to learn how to market your business and then implementing what you have learned? Is it because you are not learning the skills? What is preventing you from getting you to the level you want in your business? One needs to constantly ask themselves this question as a means to learn more about themselves and learn what they are lacking in their business.

The skills I am learning will eventually lead to me having a system that is automated, meaning, I will not have to day in and day out maintain the system. The system will be able to take care of itself without much interference from me. When one first starts a home business, yes, you will be spending a lot of time and effort involved with your business but this is because you are learning new skills. Once these skills are learned, you can then decrease the time and effort, but you should never totally let the system run on its own. Even skilled entrepreneurs will have to continue to learn new skills to get better at what they do, which is building a business.

Also, any skills learned will better suit you by sharing those skills with anybody who has joined you in your business. This is because in most MLM’s and network marketing companies, your success is based on the success of other. Therefore, sharing your knowledge and your skills is very much necessary.

Your reason for lack of success, more often than not, is not going to be the fault of the company, its services or its products. The fault lies on you. You are the one who is inhibiting your success in some form or fashion. This means your success is going to be determined by you. This also means you are going to need to invest time in learning the right knowledge and skills to help you reach the success you are looking for in your business. This is so you can establish yourself as a leader. Most people love to follow leaders. This is something I am learning from Guide2MarketingSuccess.com I have learned the importance of being a leader and it has helped me to focus on learning as much as I can so that I can in turn help others.

It is because I want more control over my own life that I have decided to continue pursuing a business of my own. I believe that having your own business is the only way one can attain freedom and lifestyle. A job cannot and will not give this to you.

I have been a member of MLMLeadSystemPro for three months. This system is not a business, but a tool that network marketer, MLM’ers, home business owners, etc can use to market their business.

I will attempt to explain how this website works. First, when you first signup, one of the first things you should do is go through the 10 steps in getting your MLMLeadSystemPro (MLSP) system setup. This means, you will be required to setup your profile, purchase a domain for your replicated website, get your autoresponder setup, signup for the various affiliates, setup your method of payment as well as determine how you want to get paid. I believe there is only one way and that is through paypal. If you don’t have a paypal account, it is a very simple process to get one setup. You will also be required to enter your tax id number. This means, your social security number or a tax id number.

I used my tax id number. This was a very simple process. I currently live in Montgomery Alabama. To get my tax id number, I just called Montgomery City Hall and talked to the business license department. It took about 15 minutes to get my tax id number. For those who are interested in getting a tax id number for your business, call your Chamber of Commerce. Tell them you are interested in getting a tax id number. You will be directed to the right department to help you attain your tax id number.

I advise getting through the 10 step “getting started” process as quickly as possible. You want to test this system as completely as possible before your 14 day trial period is up. It took me 2 days to get through the 10 step trainings. The third day I started on my marketing and I am doing this part-time.

After you have everything setup, get started on the “Marketing Trainings”. Select one method that interests you the most. I started with MySpace because I already had an account with them. You also might want to consider choosing a viral system to send emails every so often advertising your business. MLMLeadSystemPro offers two. One is called ViralUrl and the other is called ListJoe. ViralUrl is the preferred system to use. You can send 3000 emails every 3 days. Either one, ViralUrl or ListJoe is good.

Once you have one marketing method completed, then go on ahead and select another one. Do this until you have at least three marketing methods to use. For the more advanced marketers, I suggest at least four or five marketing methods. I believe I am using five.

The key to successful marketing is persistence and consistence in your marketing efforts. You want to bring as many people as you can to your MLSP website. The technique you want to implement is called “Attraction Marketing”. This is the primary philosophy of MLSP. In order to accomplish this, you want to share with other home business owners how the MLSP system can help them with their business. Keep in mind, most people are concerned with “what is in it for me”. So, you tell them exactly how the MLM Lead System Pro can help with earn more cash and generate more leads for their business.

You might want to share with them you marketing experience and knowledge. This shows you to be a leader and people love to follow leaders. Share with them how this system has benefited you. You want to show people that you are offering them value and that you are available to help them address the two major issues that confront network marketers every day in their business, which is cash flow and lead generation.

Once people start to visit your MLSP website, they will not only see your affiliate links in your back office, but also your primary business. Without marketing skills, you have little to no chance of achieving any kind of success in any business.

As your marketing skills develop, you want to have at least 30 leads or more per day coming through. Bringing in more leads is even better. I think Norbert says he brings in 50-100 leads per day.

This article is going to cover the top of marketing; primarily online versus offline marketing. The reason I am addressing this topic is because in the past few days, I have been approached by a number of people who have expressed an interest in me joining their business opportunity. You still have a choice to market your business offline too, if this marketing style suits you, but offline marketing is not for everyone.

Usually, the methods used for marketing offline include face-to-face conversations, cold calling, fliers, home parties, etc. For many people, new and experienced alike, offline marketing is very difficult. I know that it is very difficult for me. I have been involved in the home-based business industry for over 5 years and I still find offline marketing to be difficult. It is something I never felt comfortable in doing. It could be because it is based on my personality. Everyone is different and everyone is entitled to be different. If you are marketing a business, there should be available to you ways in which you can choose to market your business. Whatever choice you make should be fun for you. If you have a home business of your own, it should be something that you enjoy doing. Otherwise, why have a home business? Why not just continue working at a job?

Because I have been in the home business industry for a while now, I have met quite a number of other people who have been in the home business industry for about 4 or more years. In fact, one company I was involved with for almost 4 years, we used to have what is referred to as STS’s, which stands for Success Training Seminars. They are usually located within some city in a state near where you live. I used to go to my STS’s regularly, once a month. In these settings, there would be some of the business leaders who would get up front and talk about their successes. I recall a number of these individuals admitting that talking to strangers on the phone or having face-to-face conversations with people, sharing with prospects their products and the business opportunity, still made them nervous. Now, mind you, these are individuals who have achieved success in their business. Many were making $10K or more every month, but still talking to strangers was something that still continued to stress them out.

Well, after 2 years or more, I noticed that these individuals were not coming to the seminars anymore. I asked one of the other individuals, whom I was friends with, what happened to some of these members. He told me that they quit and joined another business opportunity. I knew about this business opportunity and although the products were very similar, the marketing strategy used was the internet; thus, almost eliminating the need to talk to strangers every day. This, I assume was due to the fact, that even after 3, 4 years or more, these individuals did not enjoy doing their business due to the amount of stress and discomfort they experienced from having to talk to strangers.

If doing the face-to-face marketing, cold calling, or chasing prospects is what you want to do and you actually enjoy it, I see no problem with this kind of marketing; especially if it is working for you. Again, having your own business should be something you enjoy.

I am sharing this with you because if you have a marketing system in place, one should be able to duplicate it. It should be something whereby almost anyone can come in and be able to do. If your marketing system offers your prospects only one marketing method that involves going out and talking to people, cold calling, putting out fliers, etc, which I did for many years, you are going to find it difficult to arouse an interest in people who are like myself, introverted, shy, or even new to home businesses, who will be willing to engage in this kind of marketing. They may do it for a while, but like the example I had given about, they may not stay; especially if someone else comes along and tells them hey, I have a system where you don’t have to chase people down anymore. Much of the marketing involves using the internet.

I have been with MLMLeadSystemPro for about 2 months. The reason I joined MLMLeadSystemPro is because I was a little bit frustrated with the growth of my business. Building a downline is not easy. Marketing and running a business is not easy. This is why it is important to have some way in getting people connected to some form of training, where they can learn about running a business and marketing. Even after achieving success in a business, they still managed to fail at one time or another, but they always managed to recover their losses and win. This is because these individuals know how to build a business. They have the skills to address issues in their companies and within themselves and build a successful business. Often I hear of many successful entrepreneurs who fail a business or quit a business that they started and had achieved success, then go and build another successful business.

Marketing is important because this is the way that you show people the benefits of your company, products or services. You use the marketing methods to present to others what you have to offer.

I use the internet because I can get in contact with millions of people. The web 2.0 marketing strategies the MLMLeadSystemPro teaches you helps to connect you to millions of people. I have been blogging, I have been creating videos, and using other methods to help my business.
