In the past, I have focused the topic of my blog on either my primary business, which is CarbonCopyPro (www.GenerateSuccessOnline.com) or the business I use to market my primary business called MLMLeadSystemPro (www.EZMLMProfits.com).

Today, I am going to do something new and in fact, from here on, this will probably be the focus of my blogs, which is to teach others various ways to market their business. After all, this is what I do so why not use my blogs to train others.

The topic I am going to cover today is forum posting. The reason I am going to start off talking about forum posting is because this is one of the first marketing methods I used to market one of my business opportunities. In fact, I was quite successful in utilizing this marketing method.

My reason for selecting forum posting as a method to promote my home business is because, one, the learning curve is not too steep, and two, it is a method that I could quickly use to market my business. Another reason I selected posting to forums is because it is free. One can’t beat that.

Today, I will offer some tips on posting to forums that worked well for me. One of the first things I would suggest that one do is to signup up with maybe 3-5 different forums. The more forums you sign-up for, the more results you will generate for your home business. I started out with 3, then 5, but overtime, I was posting to as many as 10 forums regularly.

In order to signup for a forum, click on the “Register” link. The process of registering for a forum is quite simple. Most times, all that is required is to enter your name, a username, password, and some other personal information.

While you are registering, one of the more important aspects of this process is creating, what is known as a “signature file” Now, the signature file is the primary way of advertising your business. Most forums don’t allow you to blatantly advertise your business. Sometimes, you will encounter a forum that has a topic that specifies that you can advertise your business opportunity here. But, if you don’t see a note stating that you are allowed to advertise your business, then don’t do it. If you do, you will be kicked out of the forum as a spammer and they don’t allow you to return.

Now, the way to get around the rule of not being able to advertise is to create your signature file. Here you can put you name along with the link to your website for your business. In some cases, some forums will allow you to put in up to 3 or more links to other businesses you may be affiliated with. Most times though, you may be allowed at most two business opportunities for you to promote.

You may also use HTML to create your signature file. Usually, the HTML code used varies based on the forum you are posting to. You will see a link that you click on that will show you specifically the HTML code allowed. It is really quite simple, but if you have not used HTML code before, it may become difficult and in this case, it is best to get some help from someone.

My signature file usually contained a greeting, followed my name and then a link to my business and I always, if allowed, used HTML code where the link would open my website in another window. It is best to keep your audience in the forum while viewing your website.

After you have setup your profile and created your signature file, you are now ready to begin posting. Forums have various topics under which you can post an article. The article that you post within the forum must be relevant to the topic or else, again, you will be reprimanded. The best articles to post are articles where you addressing other people’s issues; such as, most network marketers are struggling with their marketing, you can offer a suggestion or tip that will be helpful to these struggling marketers. In other words, your posts should present you as someone who is knowledgeable on various subjects relating to business. This sets you up as a leader. Why is this important? People join people not businesses. Your marketing should be about you, not your business opportunity, or your products or your services. You want people to join your business because of you. This is the essence of network marketing. You are marketing you.

Now, here is a tip I learned about posting to forums. When you post to a forum, you want to be the one to create or generate a thread. Why? Well, for the same reason I mentioned above. It sets you apart from others. By starting a thread, and if you article is interesting enough, others will take notice of your post and reply. This was my approach to posting to forums. I often would create 3-5 different posts under 3-5 different topics within the forum. Again, you want to post articles to other forums, at least 3-5 starting out. The more you do, the more and better results you will generate with your forum posting.

The great thing about posting to forums is that almost all forums offer either the same or similar topics within the forum, so what I did is any posts I created, I would copy that article and save it in notepad. Then I would use that same post in another forum and post it under the topic that was either the same or very similar. This is how I was able to post to so many different forums in one night. I will add a caution here. When you do copy and paste articles while posting to forums, be sure to change a few words here and there. Some people consider this to be spamming. Thus, in order to not be accused of spamming, I would change a few words here and there so that none of the posts looked exactly alike.

One last thing is be sure to respond to any replies you get from your posts. If you don’t, then you will be accused of being a spammer and you will be kicked out of the forum. I suggest that you create a separate email account just for the replies because if you do as many postings as I did, you will get tons of replies.

Now, don’t get discouraged if you are not getting the results you are looking for. Remember, you are learning and because you are learning, you will not have the skill set yet for posting to forums. This was true for me. It was because I was so persistent and consistent with my forum posting , that I improved. I am sure you have heard of the saying, “practice makes perfect”. Well, your posting skills may not be perfect, but they will definitely improve over time.

I believe that it was the forum posting that helped me with my article writing skills. I had to come up with various ideas on what I was going to post and then write about it. Sometimes, I would open either wordpad or notepad and create about 3 – 5 different articles before I would actually start posting. Then I would just start copying my articles to the various forums. I also spent about an hour or so each night responding to replies. This became my regiment to forum posting.

After 3 months, I had generated quite a few leads in the backoffice of my business opportunity. I had done so many postings that in 3 or 4 months, I was told that over 12,000 people had visited my website. That was amazing; especially for someone who was very new to network marketing.

You too can have this same kind of success from posting to forums if you are consistent and persistent with you postings,. Post to as many forums as you can under as many topics as you can, and within each forum set yourself up as a leader by addressing the issues of other network marketers, share you knowledge, offer help and assist using the articles. Believe me, many will take notice and start to look to you for answers to their business or marketing problems.

One last thing, periodically, change your signature files. Don’t let your signature file say the same thing. Maybe once a month, change it to something else. This too will keep others within the forum on their toes and will arouse interest in your link.

Well, that is it. I hope you found this to be helpful. When done correctly, posting to forums can be a very powerful marketing method to generate leads for your business. It is important that you practice at developing your skills in this area and once you do, you will see fantastic results.

My name is Lawren and I want to talk to about a company I joined a little over 2 months ago, but first let me tell you about myself.

I am a software developer. I have been involved in the software development industry for a little over 20 years now. I have had a very successful career. After about 10 or more years, things started to change for me. The Information Technology field started to change. I went through a number of down-sizings. I went through a total of 6 down-sizings thus far. This is when I made the decision to start looking into a home business.

I got involved in a number of companies. I did not do very well. Like many network marketers, I was taught how to market my business, much of which did not bring me much success in my business. I was taught using methods that do not work for most people. I put out fliers, passed out business cards, talk to my warm market, and more. But from this type of marketing, I was pulled over by the police, cussed at by people, chased out of parking lots and told never to come back again, and many more bad experiences.

I made some money. On a good month, I made anywhere from $2000.00 to $4000.00 per month. Eventually this did not last. My first home business fell apart after 4.5 years. Subsequently, I began searching online for a home business to join. Since my background is in computers, I felt the computer would be a better vehicle for me to use to build a home business.

I joined a number of online companies and again I failed. The reason for my failure was because I was not taught how to market my business.

About a little over 2 months ago, I received an email from someone informing me MLMLeadSysemPro which would teach me the proper way of marketing online. In other words, talk to people about the products, the services, the compensation plan, the business opportunity. Unfortunately, people don't care about these things. The reality is, many people don't like to be sold to. Most people will purchase from you or join your business because of what you have to offer, not your company. The way to get people interested in you and thus your business, products, or services, is by marketing yourself as a leader. Show people that you are interested in helping them and not just interested in making money.

I do help other network marketers with their home based business. This is one of the joys of being involved in the network marketing industry. I get a chance to meet many new people on the internet and help them to learn the proper way of marketing. I don't mind mentoring, especially those who are serious about their business. I have helped a number of people.
